Acu and the Purple Feather

"Once upon a time in the jungle of Ni-a-mee lived a bird named Acu.

Acu was a long-legged bird with three feathers on his head and three feathers on his tail.

He loved to stroll through the jungle of Ni-a-mee on hot afternoons and visit his friends.

But Acu had one problem - A Feather!"

Barbara Snobble Remembers...
CRMS 1954 - 1959

On June 9th 2007, Barbara Snobble presented her tribute slideshow for the Colorado Rocky Mountain School (CRMS) Classes of 1954 through 1959. It showcased a fantastic collection of the early images of CRMS, the Carbondale, Aspen, and surrounding areas, and the natural wonders of the Southwest explored on the many school trips. It also presented a striking comparison of how the school, area, and Southwest have changed with time. Spring Trips visited Monument Valley, Navajo Monument, Black Canyon of the Gunnison, Natural Bridges, San Juan River, Aztec Ruins, Bandelier, Colorado River and Lake Powell, Canyonlands before it became a National Park, and Canyon de Chelly and the Navajo Nation and various Anasazi ruins. Other highlights included images of CRMS students in Aspen and Carbondale parades and views of early CRMS campus (including the Old Boys' Dorm "Sheepy Hollow"). The slides were then digitized, retouched, and corrected; reassembled with a studio recording of Barb's narration; and produced in a DVD and Blu-ray format. To compliment the discs, the slide pictures were reassembled with a transcription of Barb's narration and produced in a book.
